Welcome friend, my name is Sean O'Laughlin and I am a storyteller. I've come to believe that each of us has a purpose in this world, and mine is to seek out incredible stories and to capture the essence of individuals and communities, and to preserve their legacy.

Over the past five years, I've been on a journey of creation. I set out to tell the tale of a few friends who compete in an annual rowing race, which takes place during the St. Peter's Fiesta in Gloucester, Massachusetts. However, though I intended to shoot simple sports adventure, what I found was a generational saga comprised of rich histories of tradition, rivalry, and hidden struggles. My focus expanded, and out of a web of interconnecting lives, the film blossomed.

As we progressed in stages of development past the first year of shooting, my co-producer Martin Christensen, was my right-hand man. Together we worked through story development and sought out the professionals we needed in order to tackle necessary elements. Along the way, amazing people kept being inspired by the stories within the film and they agreed to come onboard the project and add their talents to the mix. People such as Emmy-Award-Winning Motion Graphics Designer Barry Thompson, Owner of HearPunch Studio and Re-Recording Mixer Greg McCleary, Composer Trevor Wayne Howard, and for Narration, fisherman Dave Marciano from the Wicked Tuna TV show.

It has been a long and hard road, but I've been driven by the mission to do justice for those who entrusted me with their stories. I promised I'd do my best and create a professional film. This has meant making financially-crippling sacrifices for a project that may never earn back the expenditures, but I've kept my word and I think we've created something truly special... and along the way, I may have even become the type of person and director I want to be.

"Sean O'Laughlin is a superb Film Director with an outgoing, positive, and inclusive style that brings out the best in his team. He is a highly focused story-driven director, who communicates clearly while moving multifaceted projects forward. It was a great experience working with such a dedicated and genuine person"
